Starting point of the Sèquia where it captures the Llobregat waters. The original lock conserve its semi-elliptic form. It was made of wood trunks but it is modernly covered with concrete. In an adjacent house, the entrance of water to the canal is regulated, and along this first section the canal flows underground.
Located on a hill at the same starting point of the canal. It is a typical castle of the Gothic period and it has been the residence of several noble families. To make specific visits call 647766122.
Throughout its route the Sèquia passes through 31 aqueducts. Some of them are really large, such as Conangle, which was built in 1340 and it is 103 meters long, 13 meters high and consists of 7 arches.
It is the most important Iberian settlement in the Bages. Located on a hill next to the Sèquia (and controlling the Llobregat pass). It was a wall-defended oppidum (walled town), which was abandoned in Roman times. To access the specific site visit call to 938370966.
Space located in a Llobregat river meander with the typical characteristics of a wetland. The birds of this environment can be spotted there.
Medieval tradition House that retains the typical structure of an ancestral home, with a defensive tower that fortified the enclosure. The Sèquia passes through a 321 meter mine below the country house.
It is one of the leafiest places where the canal flows, formed by an island of spontaneous vegetation (an oak grove with pine and holm oaks). An old pond has been used to adapt a classroom in the wild.
These houses were where sequiaires (people who takes care of the canal) lived. There is one in Sallent, one in Santpedor and one in the Agulla Park.
Santa Maria is a very well preserved 12th century chapel, with a single nave with apses. In the 14th century a tower-bell was added. Santa Anna is a Baroque construction built between 1762 and 1769, with an addition to the twentieth century. It preserves an image of the 13th century copatron of the town of Santpedor.
Pond artificially originated from the extraction of clays in an old brick factory. A very pleasant place that is suitable for walking and observing, from a wooden house, the typical species of a humid ecosystem. In specific times, migratory birds such as flamingos could be seen. This medieval origin place is one of the oldest population centers of Pla de Bages. You can visit the pre-Romanesque and Romanesque church. Nowadays there is a winery producing wine and cava under the origin designation “Pla de Bages”.
Romanesque origin Monastery located in a lush setting, next to Llobregat. Heterogeneous set of different eras and styles, that at the beginning of the 20th century was adapted to the romantic taste. It is currently one of the most extraordinary sites in Bages Area, and it is being transformed into a big cultural, leisure and activities center.
