On the occasion of the Manresa Museum of Techniques’s temporary exhibition “From PTV to TDK. How did we live in Manresa between the forties and the nineties?” The Manresa trade is adhered to to make its shops available through a new promotion, which we have called “Aparadors de Museu”, considering that from March 19 to 25 the Second edition of the Trade Week is held .
For more than two weeks, the 35 manresanes stores adhered to the campaign will redesign their windows to include a unique and original piece from the bottom of the Museum of the Technique of Manresa. The pieces have been chosen so that they stand out among the products that are normally exhibited.
The association of plumber owners of the Potable Water of Manresa
The Associació de Propietaris Plomistes de les Aigües Potables de Manresa, is a non-profit association, which has its origins in the transformation of the management of the potable water supply service in the city of Manresa. Until 1981, it was managed under the municipal authorization scheme, through the Drinking Water Board of Manresa, and as of this year, and once the service has been municipalized, and created the municipal company Aigües de Manresa, SA, under regime direct management
This association is created with the aim of defending the rights and interests of the plumber’s owners within the municipal company, in accordance with the Law of Associations of 1964, and complementary provisions.
It should be noted that the municipal company was created with the contribution of the assets and liabilities of the Drinking Water Board, where plumber owners were the “heirs” of the initiators of the water supply to the city, and that , from 1861 they faced the first investments through the sale of pens titles *.
The constituent assembly took place on December 23, 1981 and the founding act, in which the statutes were approved, on October 8, 1982. The bylaws were registered in the register of associations of the Generalitat, dated February 3, 1983.
The founding commission was made up of the following: Ramon Busquet and Guixé, Francesc Domènec i Bartra, Maurici Espinal i Batlles, Jaume Masana and Naudi, Josep Sauret and Bosch i Maurici Serramalera i Pinós.
In addition to the aforementioned purpose, in the statutes of the association, the aims of: to take care of the correct issuance of titles to the plomist owners, from those issued by the old Water Board of Drinking Water; the preparation and maintenance of the registration of the plomist owners, in accordance with transfers and amortizations that occur; propose, for its appointment, a representative to the Water Board of Manresa; and, finally, the collaboration with this, in the solution of matters related to the potable water supply service, in general, in the city of Manresa.
At present, the association, 741 plomistes, that have a total of 1,032.5 water pens (2,065 titles of ½ pen), of which 155.75 correspond to supply by capacity, 489 applied to accountant and 387 , 75 unused.
This association, since its inception, has been holding a general assembly every year. It has a section on the Aigües de Manresa website that contains documentation that may present a general interest.

The entity supports the project to create a space for children in the Museum of Technology aimed at children in Infant Education and the family audience.
This collaboration is part of the actions of Obra Social that directly drives CaixaBank’s financial network in Central Catalonia to respond to the needs of its immediate environment.
The director of the Business Area of CaixaBank in Manresa, Beatriu Dorado, and the vice president of the Fundació Aigües de Manresa – Junta de la Sèquia, Josep Alabern, today announced the collaboration of the ‘La Caixa’ Welfare Projects for the creation of a children’s corner at the Manresa Museum of Technology.
The objective of this space, which will be called Technique 3_6, will be to bring the technique to the younger children by making it easier for them to have fun asking questions about how things work, reflect and solve challenges. Children, accompanied by an adult, will have access to different proposals with content of a technical and technological nature of free choice. The children’s corner will be devoted to the family audience during the weekend (children up to 6 years old accompanied by a relative) and children’s education students, during the week.
The collaboration of “la Caixa” Welfare Projects will allow starting with three activities: the experimental panels, the transmission of movement and the midpoint arch and the vault of cannon.
The objective of the Fundació Aigües de Manresa-Junta de la Sèquia is that the new corner of the children of the Museum of Technology become a reference space not only in the city but also in Central Catalonia.
“La Caixa” Welfare Projects has allocated an aid of € 5.000 to this collaboration, which is part of the actions directly promoted by CaixaBank’s financial network in Manresa to respond to the needs of its surroundings more immediate
Through these initiatives, and thanks to the confidence deposited by CaixaBank’s customers in the entity, the Welfare Project makes clear its commitment to Central Catalonia.
Welfare Projects: 510 million budget
The commitment of “la Caixa” Welfare Projects with the needs of the company in which it carries out its financial activity and with the welfare of people, one of its most defining features since its birth in 1904, continues to be More effective than ever. The entity works with an unavoidable goal: to contribute to the construction of a better and fairer society, giving opportunities to people who need it most.
In accordance with these principles and objectives, the entity maintains in 2018 the same desire to consolidate and intensify the work of the Welfare Project. This translates into an increase in its budget to reach 520 million euros, compared to 510 the previous year. The investment focuses primarily on the development of social programs with a transformative vocation. The fight against child poverty, the promotion of employment among vulnerable groups, the active and healthy aging of the elderly and the care of people with advanced diseases continue to be the priority lines of work. The commitment to research and knowledge, as well as support for culture, are also signs of identity of the institution.
With the aim of creating a sign of commitment for tourism sustainability based on the “Biosphere Certification” and promoting good practices in the sustainable management of tourism companies and services, its recognition through the distinctive, the Diputació de Barcelona and the Chamber of Commerce have promoted the sign of “Commitment to Biosphere Sustainability”. A recognition, which this morning, has collected 245 companies and services in the demarcation. Among them is the Museum of the Technique of Manresa.
The “Commitment to Sustainability Biosphere” wants to extend the culture of tourism sustainability to companies and tourist services in the Barcelona counties. This is a program developed by the Diputació de Barcelona, with the support of the Institute of Responsible Tourism (ITR), whose main purpose is to implement more sustainable management in all agents of a tourist destination. The deployment and territorial implementation of the program is articulated with the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, as a representative entity of the business sector of the regions of Barcelona and with a great territorial implantation, and the 11 regional tourism management entities in agreement with the Diputació of Barcelona.
In this way, the Diputació de Barcelona has promoted, along with the Institute of Responsible Tourism and the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, a methodology to guarantee the quality and sustainability of tourist services of a destination, public and private. A methodology that allows to acquire sufficient abilities for the sustainable management of these tourist services, in close relation with the different tourist services of the Destination. As a result of this voluntary implementation, the participating tourist services obtain the sign of “Commitment to Biosphere Sustainability”, annually renewable.
With this methodology, the Diputació de Barcelona has “Biosphere Certification” through its tourism brands and, from now on, tourism services and companies can be involved with their sustainability through the “Biosphere Commitment” .
In 2017, the Institute of Responsible Tourism, a body linked to UNESCO and partner of the World Tourism Organization and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, granted the Diputació de Barcelona and the three tourism brands of the demarcation – “Costa Barcelona”, “Paisatges Barcelona” and “Pirineus Barcelona”, the Biosphere certification as a sustainable tourist destination, a pioneering certification, based on the 17 Sustainable Development goals of the United Nations included in Agenda 2030.
